Sherlock craved knowing what was going on, knowing all of the pawns that were in play on the field, but right now, he needed more data. John was being unintentionally obtuse, and while Sherlock knew it wasn't his fault, it was very frustrating to have no more information than he did 48 hours ago when John started his spell.
