While John was asleep, Sherlock did a lot of research on his computer. He read about the Arthurian myths, each of the members of the Round table, all the legends and stories about their exploits, and anything else he could get his hands on, even reading about theories about what happened to them and modern accounts.
He checked on John on the hour, every hour, but he was still asleep through lunch and well into the the afternoon. And still Sherlock kept watch and learned all he could about who he was and who John is still.
