John rose and then shook the headmaster's hand. He then steered William out of the office, rubbing his forehead. He kept a firm hand on his son's shoulder as he spoke to the secretary for the school. He got his bookbag, along with his assignments and then handed it to the boy.
"Sherlock, did you drive or take a cab?" He asked his mate.
He finally turned to look at him, as they waited in the foyer of the school.
