He was lucky with his expertise he was able to find a job relatively quickly in a field he was familiar with. John looked down at his mobile as the alert came through. Christ. It was going to take him at least twenty minutes, if he was lucky, to get to the scene. But, he packed his things into the case and headed out.
He had been in Afghanistan for five years. First as a medic, then a doctor, and finally a hunter. He still was a doctor, but he had been assigned to an elite unit in the desert. Part of him felt a bit odd about all of it. But he didn't quite mind.
He made sure he had everything before he left.
He heard the annoyed voices, before he saw anyone as he entered the room.
"Oi. Who're you?" A man with two days of stubble and mussed black hair asked.
John paused and looked him over before his eyes landed on the gentleman in the suit with salt and pepper hair. There he was. "DI Lestrade? I'm Doctor John Watson, the new Occult Specialist, I just started last month." He gave him a smile, wanting to be nice, but not too friendly. People got jumpy around the occult. He saw it all the time in Afghanistan, and even here in London.

Date: 2019-07-08 08:17 pm (UTC)Apparently the smell of bread made him nauseous. Fuck.
He ended up throwing up, ignoring the arguement in the kitchen. Christ. Apparently his morning sickness was hitting him now, in the second trimester.

Date: 2019-07-08 08:25 pm (UTC)He got on his knees next to John, gently rubbing his back and murmuring soft words to him, trying to help him relax and breathe deeply and get through the nausea.

Date: 2019-07-08 08:39 pm (UTC)"Then your mother shall have to go without her toast and raspberry marmalade." He said, trying to sound like it was a joke, but he meant it quite seriously.
"I know. You've been lucky so far. But I guess the luck ran out. Just take it easy, and go lie down when you feel better. We can take care of William."

Date: 2019-07-08 08:45 pm (UTC)He kissed his mate and retreated to their bedroom to make himself comfortable on the bed.
Martha looked up when Sherlock returned to the kitchen.

Date: 2019-07-08 09:04 pm (UTC)"Good morning, William. Your Papa is a bit under the weather, but you can say goodby to him before you head to school. "
"Awwww okay Daddy." he replied. "Gramma's making breakfast."
He looked to Martha. "John requested eggs."
A few minutes later, Sherlock delivered the eggs and tea to John, who was gently napping.
"Okay." he whispered softly. He took them back to the kitchen and put them i the microwave so he could warm them up later.

Date: 2019-07-08 09:11 pm (UTC)Sherlock was fussing too.
At least William was at school.
He rose from his chair, putting a hand on his six month belly and looked at the three people. "I'm going for a walk. I hope this arguement is cleared up when I get back." He told his mother and Mycroft.
John then left the flat.

Date: 2019-07-08 09:42 pm (UTC)And then, they decided on a house. They were going to keep Baker Street as an office, but they would live in this house. It was on the outskirts of the actual city of London, but they were able to keep William at his current school, which is what they all wanted.
Of course, at 6 months, he looked like he was 9 months and ready to pop. With two babies growing, he was much larger than he would have been with just one. The healer had been watching over them. They were small, as was expected, but healthy so far.
All this stress had put everyone at the end of their rope. Even William could of course see it, and it affected him as well, as much as they tried to keep him from it. He was a smart boy.
But at least he hadn't been here to see this argument.
Sherlock followed behind John a few moments afterwards, forgetting to grab his jacket in his rush.
"John! John!" He headed outside and was immediately bombarded by the sun. Of course it would be a hot, sunny day.
"John!" He looked around but the sun was blinking and burning him, and he had to duck inside Speedy's Cafe.
Bloody Buggering Fuck. Now he was burnt from the sun. He couldn't go after John and he'd have to go back outside again to get home.

Date: 2019-07-08 09:46 pm (UTC)Everything was so emotionally heightened and he felt like crying. He eventually stopped walking and sat down, dropping his head into his hands.
Martha and Mycroft couldn't help but try and be right, prove the other wrong. And he was done. He wanted to move in and just kick everyone but his mate and their son out.
He leaned back in the bench, sighing.

Date: 2019-07-08 11:03 pm (UTC)"Are... you alright? Where's Sherlock? I thought he wasn't letting ya outta the flat until you had your baby? You look like you're about to pop. Lemme getcha a cab at least."

Date: 2019-07-08 11:05 pm (UTC)John carefully eased himself up and looked at the Detective Inspector. "The walk does me good. Can you walk me back to the flat? It would make Sherlock feel better."

Date: 2019-07-08 11:09 pm (UTC)"Come on, lets get you home>"

Date: 2019-07-08 11:11 pm (UTC)"Hard to believe I'm only six months along." He chuckled. John rubbed his belly, smiling at Greg, "And I'm excited to have these babies out of me."

Date: 2019-07-08 11:26 pm (UTC)Greg took in a deep breath. He didn't see William a lot but he did babysit some and see him occasionally when he went to get Sherlock from Baker Street for a case. He was 'Uncle Greg" and that suited him fine.
"Gonna be weird, not coming to Baker Street any more." He admitted. "But the news house is very nice. Plenty of room."

Date: 2019-07-08 11:29 pm (UTC)"Trust me, twins were a shock when my doctor told us." He chuckled.

Date: 2019-07-08 11:51 pm (UTC)They turned a corner, just a few blocks from Baker Street now.
"I know the new house has room for more than just three. That mean you guys thinkin' about..." His voice trailed off. "Never saw Sherlock as a father. Vampires.. well,. they don't really tend to settle down. But he's an exception in a lotta ways, innit?"
no subject
Date: 2019-07-08 11:53 pm (UTC)"We didn't think we would have anymore after William. He's such a good boy and I am so thankful for him every day." He said with a shy smile.
"And many wouldn't see me as a father either. Especially given my background and career."

Date: 2019-07-09 12:16 am (UTC)As they turned onto Baker Street, Greg was the first to notice that Sherlock was pacing back and forth under the awning of Speedy's cafe, and he looked.. pink.
"Sherlock?" He asked, stepping up his pace to try to get to the cafe to see if that was indeed the detective.

Date: 2019-07-09 12:18 am (UTC)He then turned to Greg. "Can you go inside and get his coat and gloves?"
no subject
Date: 2019-07-09 12:30 am (UTC)"John!" He took one step out from the awning, intending to run towards the man who was waddling towards him.
That only lasted a second, and then he was back under the awning again.
"Sure." Greg ran ahead, opening the thankfully unlocked door of 221 Baker Street and heading upstairs.
Sherlock hissed when John touched his sunburnt face, but he didn't shrink away. He wanted to make sure that this was real, that John was here and in front of him and touching him.
"John. John." Sherlock didn't care that it hurt when he kissed his mate. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drive you off. You could have been hurt or killed out there and I was worried about you. I thought you might never come back. "
He was beside himself with worry, touching and kissing and John... JOHN.

Date: 2019-07-09 12:32 am (UTC)"I'm sorry for worrying you." He kissed him again and then pulled back.

Date: 2019-07-09 12:57 am (UTC)Greg ran out of the building a moment later, panting and holding Sherlock's coat and gloves.
"Thank you." Sherlock said. It was a bit painful to get them on, especially the gloves, but he did it, put up the hood- down further on his eyes than usual, and made the short jaunt into 221B again.

Date: 2019-07-09 01:04 am (UTC)He stared at both his mother and Mycroft, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Both of you get out. No arguing. Get out." He ordered.

Date: 2019-07-09 01:12 am (UTC)"Sherlock, we still have a lot to- " Sherlock interrupted his brother. "Out, Mycroft." He turned to John's mother. " And you as well. We will take care of William today."
She opened her mouth, but Sherlock interrupted her. 'OUT."
She gave Sherlock a death glare, and looked at John as well, then made a portal and was gone.
Mycroft looked like he was about to say something, but he thought better of it, grabbed his umbrella, and left as well.
