Sex sold. It could be seen in marketing for businesses across all sorts of industries.

And for John Watson, his business was booming.

He worked out of a club in London that catered to certain... Tastes. Men and women who looked to dominate someone sexually. Some would look down on a man having that job, scoffing. Sex work was legal though. But those who were interested in BDSM, found sex workers to be lacking.

John was sitting at a bar at the club he usually worked out of, nursing a soda. He rarely drank when he was working, preferring to stay sober.

He looked around the room, seeing if there was anyone who caught his interest tonight.

The day drug on endlessly. Lestrade had gotten his statement, then another case had come in while they he was still there. Normally he wouldn't have gone out on the case with them, it sounded like a 4, but when Lestrade had insisted, he reluctantly went along.

Which was a mistake.

It had rained a bit the night before, and the roads were slick. While Sherlock was chasing after a suspect, he stepped in a puddle that was deeper than it looked. The small pothole had filled with water, making it look like a small puddle. Since it was nighttime, it was even harder to see.

Sherlock fell, twisting his ankle and falling on his wrists, he knew at least his right one was sprained right away, maybe the left as well.

Thankfully, Lestrade and his team were right after the man He was eventually caught, and an ambulance was called for Sherlock.

Unfortunately, he had had his phone out while running to tell Lestrade where he was, so it had fallen in the water, and the screen was broken- not that he could use it anyway with his hands messed up as they were.

He was sent off to the hospital to get his wounds looked at.

When John got up in the morning to find that Sherlock was not home. He... Panicked for a moment before taking a breath. He had said he was going to see Lestrade. So he sent the man a text.

Have you seen or spoken to Sherlock lately? He didn't come home last night.

When Sherlock got to the hospital, he was obviously in intense pain, though he tried not to show it.. he was drugged up pretty badly so he would sleep through the night, and he did, sleeping well into the afternoon of the next day, he was groggy and in and out of consciousness due to the drugs.

In all the time John and Sherlock had been together, Lestrade had only seen John a couple of times, they seemed to keep zigging and zagging the few times that Lestrade came to the flat in the last couple of months.

He went to get cleaned up and dressed, putting on some of his nicer clothes that he bought on his own thank you very much.

Oh, sorry. He's at King's College in Brixton. He was injured last night. Nothing bad, twisted his ankle and roughed up his hands. He broke his phone, I guess that's why he didn't tell you.

Oh. Thank you. I will leave in a moment and head that way.

John pulled on his shoes and grabbed his coat. He left the flat and hailed a cab, giving the name of the place he wanted to go to.

As the day wore on, Sherlock got more and more frustrated and upset. He had no phone in his room and they wouldn't let him make a phone call yet.

His ankle wasn't broken, but he'd need to keep off of it for a couple of weeks. His wrists weren't hurt as bad, a bit twisted and scraped up, but not unusable,. thankfully.

A nurse knocked at the door. "Mr. Holmes, there is a John Watson here to see you." She said, "Do you want to see him?"

Sherlock's breath caught. He hated that John had to see him like this, but he missed seeing his lover. As a dom, he never wanted to show weakness, especially around his sub.

For John, he'd make an exception, of course.


"Yes, please." He responded.

A moment later John was shown into the room. He bit his lip as he watched Sherlock. He crossed over to the bed and sat in the chair next to him. "I should have gone with you." He said after a moment.

Sherlock sighed in relief when he saw John. Seeing him always made him feel better.

"No. I wouldn't want you to get injured as well. You couldn't have stopped by stupid mistake. I was too busy chasing after the suspect to see where I was going."

John reached out and put his hand over Sherlock's and smiled at him. He squeezed it gently. "Sherlock... I'm sorry." He whispered to him. He hoped that Sherlock understood what was going on.

"You have nothing to apologize for, John." He said, simply.

John swallowed and then nodded. He ran his fingers over Sherlock's hand, watching their connected hands for a moment. He then brought it to his lips and kissed the back of it.

Sherlock hissed lightly, grimacing in pain and pulling his hand away. "I apologize. My hands are a bit sore from yesterday." He frowned, hating that it was painful to even hold John's hand.

He sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm going to be pretty useless for a while." He admitted with a frown on his face.

John swallowed and then nodded. "Alright. Do you need me to get you anything?" He asked softly. He wanted to help him, to do something, but he was worried he wouldn't be able to.

Sherlock's eyes were still closed when he shook his head. "Unless you can get me out of here faster, I don't think so." He sighed again.

"I don't think they are going to keep me much longer. They put me on a concussion protocol, despite me insisting that I didn't hit my head going down. That's evident by the injuries on my hands. Idiots." he growled the last word.

John laughed and ran a hand through his hair. "Mmm. Most people are idiots. You and I are included on that."

He kissed his cheek and then settled back against the chair.

Sherlock frowned, in a very put upon pout. "I am most certainly not an idiot!" He complained, though there was no venom to it.

John laughed and then kissed him. "I love you."

Sherlock rolled his eyes, but again, there was no venom in it, just good natured humor.

He sighed and closed his eyes. He was still tired despite the drugs that they had been giving him. Thankfully, he was no longer dosed up with anything powerful, he could already feel the affects fading away and knew that he was most likely going to have a bit of withdrawal. He just had to try to not take it out on John.

There were things he still didn't know about Sherlock's past.

John reached out and stroked Sherlock's hair. "Would you like me to stay here?"

They all had secrets. Hidden things. He had things he kept in his past, buried deep.

Sherlock, his eyes still closed, nodded his head. "Of course. Why wouldn't I want you to?" The idea of him not staying just seemed ridiculous.

"I'm still waiting for the doctor to come in and clear me to leave. I'm going to have to be on crutches for a couple of weeks. It will be intolerable." He frowned and opened his eyes, looking straight at John.

"Just asking." He clarified. Sometimes his partner's mood was ever changing.

"At least it's not a cast. Or worse." He said stubbornly. John knew that might mean both of them were to be celebate during this time.

Sherlock huffed in frustration and threw his head back onto the pillow, where he had been looking up and over at John. This was all intolerable, the waiting for what seemed like an eternity when all he wanted to do was go home.

He shrugged noncommittally at John. He wasn't mad at him, he was just made at this whole damnable situation.
